My boyfriend thinks I'm funny.

I cut my hair. This is a true story.
Yeah, actually... I do have a myspace.

You wish you were cool enough to create your own fan club.

Name(s): It's Ariella, but I go by a billion other names along with that.

Gender: Female. I had always thought that was sort of obvious (BOOBIES), but every once in a while someone online mistakes me for a guy. And sometimes hits on me. *Shiver*.

Age: Seventeen. Yeah, I'm not legal. Think about that.

A note to those who do not have a death wish: I HATE leetspeak, shortened words, and inacurracy. Inaccuracy is a mark of sloppy thinking. Will it kill you to type out "you" instead of "u"?

Interests: Reading, writing, the remarkable cheese in a spray can...

Born: in London, but I now live in California (Los Angeles area)

Aim: LandorsCottage. Feel free to instant message me, for I have no life.

Education: Done with high school; currently in my second year at a lame community college.

Likes: Ponies! Books, intelligent people, roses, candles, gay men, Oscar Wilde, and jello.

Dislikes: Smoking, alcohol, idiots, sugar, and most insects.

UCLA.

I have officially been accepted to UCLA. This is good, because I only applied to one school, and it'd look pretty lame if I didn't get in. I don't really want to spend another year in community college. I'm such an overachiever, haha.

I'm really excited. Seriously. Underneath all the "Oh shit, how am I going to pay for this?" and "I was already accepted, why do I have to do all this paperwork before I can actually go to school there?" is pure excitement. UCLA has a really reputable psychology department. I can't think of another subject (aside from musical theatre, but I have to do something practical first, right?) I'd rather study.

I'm kind of worried that the super academic atmosphere won't really suit me, but I think that sort of environment used to really appeal to me, so maybe I'll still be okay. I'm really burnt out from this mad-dash-to-the-JC-finish-line madness, but as long as I take it easy this summer I should make it.

Also, my cat found a mosquito, and he is being so cute right now. I'm thinking about getting bugs and setting them loose in the house just so he can chase them around. Or better yet, a mouse! Aww.

Poker.

Steven: "God, who made up the rules to this game, anyway? Oh, I bet it was some guy from Texas."

Pinky: "Yeah. His last name was Hold 'Em."

Reincarnation

I've always liked the idea of reincarnation. I used to read a lot about it, and something I find fascinating is how many children are quoted as saying things like "When I was a grown-up" not in some make-believe sort of way, but as if they are recalling a distant memory. I've heard a lot about toddlers saying things like "When I was a grown-up, my baby died" but I'm sure these situations can be exaggerated and blown out of proportion.

I babysit two children, Haley and Mason (who just turned four and two, respectively) and while Mason was taking his nap today, Haley asked me to paint her toenails.

"Do you like this color?" I asked.

"Yes!" she exclaimed. Then after a short pause, she said, "When I was a grown-up, I used to paint my own toenails."

I froze. "Really?" She nodded. I held my breath. "What else did you used to do when you were a grown-up?"

"I don't remember," she said sadly.

Damn.

Damn you, Western Philosophy.

4 am: Have a pretty strong understanding of Western Philosophy (final is tomorrow, and before tonight I had never really looked at the textbook). However, I consumed too much coffee and now cannot sleep. Damnit.

Oh, and life updates.

1. I just realized that I haven't written anything since November.

2. I saw Sweeney Todd a few weeks ago and it was awesome. I kind of wanted to throw up, but mostly from the overdose of totally-amazing-movie-musicality.

3. I completely finished high school, so I no longer have to worry about that. All of my college credits put me in my second year of college. I miss AOC and the teachers, and I'm actually kind of depressed, but relieved at the same time. I keep reminiscing and myspace-messaging all these poor people I haven't talked to for years. Seriously, can you imagine not talking to me for years? Torture.

4. I applied to transfer to UCLA for the fall semester. If I don't get in, I'm going to be way pissed, because UCLA is the only school to which I applied.

5. I got a MacBook. It is sex. I spend an absurd amount of time messing around with Photo Booth.

6. Interesting things don't happen to me very often. :(

Could chemistry actually be a fun class?

My chemistry professor (the class doesn't start until February) sent out a little introduction email today, with a couple of general questions.

Are you aware that you cannot get credit for taking both Chemistry 110 and Chemistry 151?

Yes. And I chose 110 because classes with lower numbers sound easier. Does that make me a slacker?

What kind of computer do you have? Do you have a printer?

I just got a MacBook and it is the love of my life. This is a good thing for me, because my last computer (a toshiba laptop) was literally in two pieces held together with some wires when I got the mac-- yeah, don't buy a toshiba laptop. I do have a printer, but I prefer printing everything in the computer lab in the S building, because I'm cheap like that. Also, after looking at your email address, I notice that you also have a mac-- we should bond over this. I find that whenever I mention that I have a mac, I meet one of two reactions. "You have a mac? Me too! We should be best friends!" or "Really? I don't! Let's fight about it!" Let's be best friends.

-

So, we are best friends now.

And his name is Erik Eriksson. Seriously.

This isn't a REAL update.

But you guys are used to that by now.

I just thought that everyone needed to see this:

That is all.

You know what I miss?

Not having to set an alarm clock.

Alarm clocks are great inventions, don't get me wrong. I'd be late for absolutely everything if I didn't have one (and now there are even cute new clocks that do other things as well, like play music and toast bagels). But I honestly can't remember a time in the last few years where I didn't have to worry about an alarm-- when I could just fall asleep and wake up whenever. I have class every morning, and on the weekends I have work or rehearsal or I have to clean or something.

I do like doing this much. It makes me feel occupied; it lets me forget about things once in a while. I never had a packed schedule as a kid, so I guess I'm making up for it now, but sometimes I kind of wish I had it in me to just sit around and do fuck-all for a while, y'know?

Also, the neighbors are having a loud party and it's midnight and I kind of want to kill them. Good night!

I am seventeen as of Sunday.

That means that, for a little less than a year, I will still be jailbait. After that I will no longer be attractive, I guess.

That's lame.
